Steve Reeves departed this life on May 1, 2000.

We will always miss Steve and we will always consider him truly as One of A Kind. Thank you Steve for leading the way, thank you for helping so many, and thank you for all the exceptional things you've done in your lifetime.

 


 

 

World War II put a temporary halt to Steve's bodybuilding, for as soon as he graduated from high school he joined the Army. On September 12, 1944 Steve reported to the Presidio of Monterey, California for induction into the Army.

 

Nick name the "SHAPE".

 

 


Bodybuilding Titles

Though Steve's competitive bodybuilding career was relatively short (1946-1950), he did win many major titles. The following is a year-by-year listing of how Steve did during his bodybuilding days.

  • 1947 - Mr. America (Contest held in Chicago)
  • 1948 - Mr. World (Contest held in Cannes France)

  • 1948 - Mr. USA (2nd place)- Clarence Ross-1 first place.
  • 1948 - Mr. Universe (2nd place)- John Grimek's-1 first place.
  • 1949 - Mr. USA (3rd place)- John Grimek's-1 first place.
